What to do if you see Clipboard access was denied
The app reads whatever is currently copied when you press the button. If the browser blocks the clipboard, you see Clipboard access was denied and nothing is saved.
Chrome / Edge (desktop)
- Open site settings from the icon at the left of the address bar.
- Set clipboard to Allow.
- Reload the page and press the button again.
If it is still blocked, check the OS-level clipboard permission as well.
Safari (iPhone / Mac)
Safari can read the clipboard only right after a user action. Copy the link on X, then tap the app button immediately. Coming back after using another app for a while often fails.
Also check Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data, or per-site permissions, in case clipboard is blocked.
Chrome on Android
When the site asks for clipboard access, choose Allow. If you denied it once, open the menu at the right of the address bar → Site settings and change it.
If it still cannot read
- Confirm the page is HTTPS (HTTP often cannot read the clipboard).
- Try without private browsing or extensions that block the clipboard.
- Try another browser.
